Cummins is a leading global manufacturer of mining engines, with the widest product line in the industry, covering a displacement range of 15-78 liters and a power range of 600-3500 horsepower. It is widely used in various mining equipment, from rock drills to the world's largest mining trucks.
Cummins agricultural engines have a wide product line, with displacements ranging from 1.4-15 liters and a power range of 31-600 horsepower. They use mechanical and fully electronic control methods, with excellent power, reliability, and fuel economy, meeting the strictest European and American off highway motor equipment emission standards (Tier 3 and above) today
Cummins achieved success in the marine engine market from the beginning of its establishment. The first engine we successfully designed and manufactured was for ships, and we did not stop moving forward. In fact, between 1919 and 1934, more than half of our products were used for ships. From 76BHP to 2000BHP (57-1492KW), Cummins marine engines are used in various types of ships worldwide, including trawling boats, ferries, yachts, workboats, tugboats, fishing boats, firefighting boats, and passenger ships.
Cummins is a world leading manufacturer of power equipment for oil and gas fields, providing comprehensive power solutions for drilling, well repair, and production equipment in oil and gas fields, including engines, generator sets, mobile power stations, filters, fire pumps, and exhaust aftertreatment devices. Cummins oil and gas field engines, including mechanical and fully electronic 1.4-liter to 78-liter diesel engines and 5.9-liter to 91-liter natural gas engines, meet the strictest highway (EPA07, Euro III/Euro IV) and off highway equipment (Tier 2/Tier 3) emission standards today. They are widely used in equipment such as oil drilling rigs, workover rigs, fracturing trucks, pump sets, and gas compressor sets.
With the rapid development of railway transportation industry, improving operating speed, increasing passenger capacity, and reducing operating costs have become the most critical issues in railway operation, and the basis for solving these problems lies in improving the performance of vehicle engines. To meet the above requirements, Cummins has developed and produced a series of engine products suitable for the railway transportation industry. These products have the following characteristics: high power, high durability, low emissions, and low lifetime operation and maintenance costs of the engine. The power range of the engine series is 68-3500 horsepower, and all of them are electronically controlled, which can meet the second and third stage (Tier 2/Tier 3) emission standards of European and American off-road mobile equipment, fully meeting the operator's requirements for environmental protection.
The product line of Cummins Power Division includes diesel and alternative fuel generator sets (2.5 kW~2.7 MW), AC generators (0.6 KVA~30000 KVA), unit engines, control systems, transfer switches (40 amps~3000 amps), and switchgear, which are widely used in office buildings, hospitals, factories, municipalities, power plants, universities, recreational vehicles, yachts, and household power sources.
a. The Cummins starter motor should run for no more than 30 seconds each time, and the time interval for restarting is 2 minutes. b. The lubricating oil pressure should reach 70KPa within 15 seconds after starting, otherwise check the oil level immediately. c. After starting, idle for 3-5 minutes before adding load, otherwise the bearing will experience a momentary shortage of fuel supply. d. Idle speed should not exceed 10 minutes, otherwise adverse phenomena such as carbon buildup in the combustion chamber and oil leakage from the Cummins engine turbocharger may occur. e. The water temperature of Cummins engine should not be lower than 60 degree , otherwise fuel will enter the engine oil and damage lubrication. Empty acceleration can be used to increase the water temperature. f. After starting in winter, keep idling until the water temperature gauge pointer rotates or enters operation after 10 minutes. Pay attention to whether the oil pressure gauge meets the requirements while observing the water temperature gauge. When using starting aid fluid in winter, a spray with a measuring hole must be used.
(2) Basic operating requirements for Cummins engines
a. During the operation of Cummins engines, it is necessary to regularly observe the instruments: the water temperature should be between 74 degree and 91 degree ; The oil pressure should be greater than 70KPa at idle and within the range of 276-517kPa above 1200r/min. b. If the Cummins engine overheats, the load should be reduced during operation. If it still overheats after running under reduced load for a period of time, the machine should be stopped to check for faults. c. During the operation of Cummins engines, close attention should be paid to any of the following changes in the engine. If any of them suddenly change, it is likely to be a sign of a malfunction. Please check and repair them in a timely manner.
(3) Cummins engine operating range
a. When the Cummins engine is below the maximum torque speed, full throttle operation should not exceed 30 seconds, otherwise it will shorten the engine's overhaul life and may seriously damage the engine. Cummins engines work best above the maximum torque speed point, so it is recommended to operate Cummins engines within this range. b. Under no circumstances or in any environment should Cummins engines operate beyond the maximum idle speed.

(5) Cummins engine shutdown
a. Cummins engines are required to idle for 3-5 minutes before shutting down. Because idling the diesel engine for 3-5 minutes before each shutdown can allow the engine oil to remove heat from the combustion chamber, bearings, and oil seals, especially from the turbocharger. If the machine suddenly stops, there is a high possibility of the bearings and oil seals biting. b. The purpose of stopping the Cummins engine can be achieved by cutting off the current of the fuel pump solenoid valve.
